"Il était une fois... Audrey Hepburn" has been created in 2006 by two friends who shared a deep admiration for Audrey Hepburn, not only Audrey the legendary actress but also Audrey as a woman, a humanitarian. This website opened its doors on February 8th, 2006 with a very simple design. We were lucky to find out the domain name Audrey-Hepburn.org was available and bought it immediatly so that it wouldn't end up in the hands of a big commercial company that would only use this url to promote cheap products.

We changed the design of our fansite in April 2006 for an easier navigation and most importantly, the site was translated into English (it was previously only available in French). Please keep in mind that English is not our language and it should explain the mistakes you found here and there. It is our intention to launch a french adaptation as soon as possible.
January 2007 : another design for the site, we have also encoded our pages in php.

Despite all the changes , the title of the site remains the same : "Il était une fois Audrey Hepburn". Why this title? It embodies the spirit of the site... Every fairytale starts with "Once upon a time..." and although Audrey Hepburn's life was certainly not a fairytale, Audrey was and still is a source of inspiration for many people around the world... and this is this magic that we want to capture and share with you on our site.
